Saints’ expectation is to appear in Super Bowl

Winning the Super Bowl XLIV championship was something historical to the New Orleans Saints, a team won the title in their first appearance in Super Bowl. People suddenly realized that this is a great team with great potentials to beat another team with much better records. However, higher expectation is not necessarily good to the defending champion team of 2010 season.

Write For Pay

According to recent reports and analysts, the Super Bowl XLIV winner still has great chance to have Super Bowl XLV patch stitched on the Saints jerseys, but would unlikely to hold the champion trophy again in early 2011. No matter what the strongest opponent team is to compete with team for the championship, problems existing before the 2009 season and happening after the Super Bowl win could still prevent the Saints from winning a second consecutive Super Bowl title.

The Saints have had a strong offense but lowly ranked defense since the beginning of 2009 season. With the weakness not removed all through the season, they still managed to reach the playoffs. But that was last season. For this new 2010 season, all other teams know better of the Saints’ scheme, and curiously, the defending champion has not made much improvement to their defense. If any other team manages to beat all the other teams to meet the Saints in the playoffs, it could meet the champion with long-time preparation to penetrate their relatively weak defense. The Super Bowl XLV is very likely to end with an unexpected winner and the Saints return home with regrets and determination to improve and get closer to the final win, but that would be another story in 2012.
